LUXE does not have to mean excessive, as Sentosa Cove demonstrates with environmentally-friendly initiatives that characterise the exclusive residential enclave.

“From the onset, Sentosa Cove was designed (in 1996) with the natural environment in mind – approximately 40 per cent of our development is dedicated to landscaping and waterbodies,” said Mr Jason Yeo, general manager of Sentosa Cove Resort Management.

Sentosa expects to exceed 6m visitor target by end 2009

Despite the tourism slump, Singapore’s resort island and tourist destination Sentosa said it’s confident of exceeding its initial target of six million visitors this year.

The bullish outlook is attributed to the upcoming leisure attractions to draw in families and the young and adventurous.

One of them is the MegaZip Adventure Park which was unveiled on Thursday.

The S$2 million facility consists of Asia’s longest and steepest flying fox ride.

The 450-metre long zip wire takes fliers 72 metres above the sea. Continue reading
