RELEASE OF 3Q 2009 PUBLIC HOUSING DATAThis is higher than HDB’s estimate earlier this month of a 3.2 per cent increase, and comes after HDB resale prices rose 1.4 per cent in the second quarter over the first quarter.
The final third-quarter figures, released by the HDB on Friday, also showed that the number of resale transactions went up 14 per cent between June and September, to 11,649.
Buyers are also paying significantly more in cash-over-valuation (COV amounts. The median COV quadrupled to $12,000 in the third quarter, from $3,000 in the second quarter, HDB data showed.
The HDB also said another 4,000 build-to-order flats in Punggol, Bukit Panjang, Sembawang and Dawson will be made available in November and December.
This would bring the total flat supply for this year to about 13,500 units, including other sale exercises as well as flats offered under the Design, Build and Sell Scheme.
