How small can they go?

SMALL is in for some property developers.

A recent launch had units of 258 sq ft for sale.

Indeed, some 500 mickey mouse units – those below 500 sq ft – have been sold this year, up from 299 last year and 275 in 2007.

But there are now concerns about the quality of livin in such tight spaces.

The Urban Redevelopment Authority does not dictate that private residential units should be of a minimum size.

This is to give developers flexibility to cater to different market niches.
