IF YOU’RE after more than a sculpture or a metre of songket from Bali (say a structure substantially more imposing, or your own swathe of the island’s periwinkle-blue sky) Bali can offer you that, too – in the form of the Bulgari Residences.

The five-villa estate is Bulgari’s first residential project in the world, and follows the company’s two other Bulgari-branded property ventures – its Bali resort and a hotel in Milan. Launched in Singapore yesterday and scheduled to be completed in about 16 months, the Residences comprise some of the island’s most spectacular real estate: the expansive villas sit on a secluded cliff-top plateau at the island’s south-western tip of Uluwatu, surrounded by lush greenery and fronted by a stunning panorama of the Indian Ocean as far as the eye can see.
If you’ve been to the Bulgari Resort, which adjoins the Residences – well, imagine the same luxurious accommodation and amazing views, only multiplied 10 times over in size and vantage… and, best of all, yours to keep, not reluctantly pry yourself away from after a few days.
Said Bulgari in a company statement: ‘Following the success of the Bulgari Hotel in Milan and the Bulgari Resort in Bali, we decided that the real estate market allowed us to further leverage our brand and enhance our brand awareness, presenting us with an opportunity to offer our clientele a complete lifestyle experience.’
As such, it added, the residences ‘offer an intimate setting for a clientele who values privacy and true luxury quality and features’.
What that means is that each villa will showcase ‘an exclusive design blending Balinese and Italian style’ by acclaimed architectural firm Antonio Citterio & Partners, which will integrate it harmoniously into its natural surroundings. While the interior of every home is customisable to meet the residents’ needs, out-of-doors, each will feature an open-air dining pavilion, a terrace and two pools.
In addition, the villas will come fully furnished with luxe fittings such as Bulgari’s specially-commissioned songket fabric, Bang & Olufsen sound systems and Miele kitchenware. Residents will also have access to the facilities of the Bulgari Resort such as its spa, boutiques and two excellent restaurants. With land areas of between 1,705 sqm and 4,415 sqm each, and interior areas ranging from 1,164 sqm to 1,330 sqm, the residences, priced from US$6 million, are Bali’s largest. So, if it’s your own piece of Bali you seek, it literally doesn’t get any bigger – or better – than this.
